Hot 97’s FM DJ Cipha Sounds suspended indefinetly for Haitian HIV comment.

Luis Diaz, aka “Cipha Sounds”, of HOT 97 infuriated listeners when he made a comment about Haitian women on his show last Friday, December 17.

During his show Diaz joked, “The reason I’m HIV negative is because I don’t mess with Haitian girls.”

In response to his remark, the station was bombarded with several calls from listeners angered by his comments. Diaz apologized after several complaints were made by listeners.  Unfortunately for him, that was not enough for the Haitian community.

Diaz has been suspended indefinitely, a complete contrast to the statement Alex Cameron, senior vice president and marketing manager of Emmis New York, released yesterday.  …Read More / Leer más »
